The cost depends on three things: how much labelled data you already have, how many models need to be built, and how complex the integration is. A single churn-prediction model plugged into an existing CRM sits at the lower end. A multi-camera computer vision system with edge deployment, custom hardware specs and a real-time alerting pipeline sits at the upper end. We quote a fixed price after the feasibility assessment, so there are no surprises once work begins.
Project builds are fixed price. The support retainer includes up to 12 hours of engineering time per month; additional hours beyond that are billed at £165 per hour. We find fixed pricing works better for both sides because it removes the incentive to pad hours and gives you a predictable budget.
We define a minimum accuracy threshold in the project contract before development starts. If the final model doesn't meet it on the agreed test set, we continue iterating at no extra charge for up to four additional weeks. If it still falls short after that, you pay only 50% of the project fee. This has happened twice in 43 projects; in both cases, the issue was insufficient training data, which is why we insist on the data audit phase.
Our prices cover our engineering time, not your cloud hosting or hardware. During the feasibility assessment we estimate your monthly infrastructure cost and include it in the report. For most NLP and tabular-data projects, hosting runs between £80 and £300 per month on AWS or Azure. Computer vision with GPU inference is higher, typically £400 to £900 per month depending on throughput.
The minimum commitment is three months. After that, you can cancel with 30 days written notice. We don't lock clients into long contracts because we'd rather keep you through good work than through contractual obligation. About 80% of retainer clients stay beyond the initial three months.
We offer a 15% discount on the feasibility assessment and project build for registered charities and social enterprises.
